Default A8 Brake Upgrade Questions..

Hey, did a search, didn't find much..

I'll be moving from Florida -> Boston soon and wanted to get my car ready for the snow (yeah, I don't know how to drive in the snow, lol)

Anyways,
Has anyone done this upgrade to their car? Did they notice a huge difference?

..I'm curious as to why ECS doesn't sell the A8 upgrade for the rear brakes, but whatever.

There isn't an A8 rear brake upgrade. There is the S4 rear brake upgrade, though. But technically if you get S4 rear brake calipers, A8 rear caliper carriers, and A8 rear brake rotors you would sort-of have a rear A8 brake upgrade.

Anyways, for a low-cost front upgrade, the A8 option is great. It only replaces the caliper carriers and rotors. Very simple and cheap (relatively). Many of us use it for daily use

Brake upgrades will be useless for snow and ice. I live in central Canada, with very harsh winters. The most important tool for safe and fun driving in the winter is good WINTER tires. Dont trust the all-season crap.

When you are sliding on snow and ice, bigger brakes aren't going to help you stop.

Soulstep is right, but like metalman said, the A8 upgrade is excellent for daily use. Best money I put into my A4. They're the brakes the car should've come with. Most Audis I've driven seemed underbraked. My BMW definitely is not. I wish Audi went their route with brakes and spec'd them big and powerful - that's always the better option of the two in my mind.
