I've got some used, good condition drilled A8 rotors. $50 plus shipping and they're yours. Email me.

I've had it for over 4 years. That and HIDs were the best bang for the buck I've gotten from this car. Bones is correct that the larger rotor contributes. It has more mass to dissipate heat. You're also correct in the larger radius from center to pad - the larger torque-arm effect improves the stopping power. And believe me for such a mild and inexpensive upgrade, the improvements are significant.

I run the A8/TT setup as well. That, combined with a good quality pad, will get you a noticeable improvement in stopping power.

So I finally ended up doing this upgrade and must say it is well worth it. Got the carriers for 100 bucks at a wrecking yard, but now I have tt calipers I don't need, lol. I did my bestfriend's timing belt job on his 1.8t passat and as payment I told him to just buy me the rotors, so we picked up some Bosch rotors yesterday. This setup is sweet, only problem is that I want to upgrade the rear now,

So can you do a8 rotor, tt carrier and s4 caliper for extra piston?

No, the S4 upgrade is completely separate and different.
