A8 TT brake upgrade question
So I am doing my control arms in two weeks and I plan on doing the A8 TT brake upgrade beacuse I am due for new brakes soon as well. Exactly what kind of pads, a8 rotors, and tt carriers should I be looking for? Another question, how difficult is it to upgrade to stainless brake lines?
check ecstuning.com for the package deals if you have the money...and changin to stainless lines is really easy if you're only replacing the soft lines, just unbolt the old ones and bolt the new ones on.
that looks okay..I was hoping to do drilled and slotted..and I need to replace the pads too. Are the pads still OE a4 quattro pads or are they the A* pads?
the caliper is the same, so the same A4 brake pads are used. The only part the TT upgrade is acutaly "upgrading" is the size of the rotor.. which gives it more mass to dissipate heat and increasing clamping leverage marginaly as well since the caliper is further away from the center of the wheel.
take off your wheel and have a look at the inner pad. there's a harness about the size of your thumb connected to a harness on the car. get hawk pads from ebay. they're only 82 bux vs 90+ anywhere else. also i noticed you don't have HIDs in your mod list. another ebay item, i just bought a set from autoluminate on ebay. they're located in cali and it only took 3 working days HIDs i ordered to arrive to NY. also it's only 64 bux. much better than vvme
