ABS reprogram

Default ABS reprogram

so i have had the 18014 code since i have bought the car(month and a half) so today i bought a used abs module from a dismantler. installed it and still having the same code... dose this module need programing or did i get another jacked up module???

2000 a4 1.8tqm

VAG-COM Version: Release 409.1-S

Been there, done that... IT NEEDS TO BE REPROGRAMMED....You're gonna need ALL the VAG COM numbers off the old module and reprogram them into the new one so it matches.... you're gonna need to put the old one back in and pull the numbers off of it with the vag com....then there are directions on how to do it here:

Its for a VW, but same system.....which are awesome....good luck.

well with the old abs module i tried scaning it and my vagcom wouldnt connect to it... mabe i was doing it wrong?

That's an issue, because you do need to find the codes for the old module somewhere, otherwise....you can't reprogram new one.....

just went to the car with the laptop and tried to scan the old abs unit and still cant connect to it. the only modules i can really scan is engine and instruments... so it looks like ill be calling the stealership monday :\

do you have a registered version of the vag-com software? you should be able to scan the whole car and not just the engine and instrument modules.
