Well you really don't even need to use the clutch to put the car into gear while the engine is off, so it shouldn't be clutch related. Check the shift linkage and the shifter stabilizer bar which is that annoying allen head bolt with the bushings on it.

 

ooo good point about the car being off and not going into gear. Awesome! I'll report back when the linkage has been checked over again.
