Uh, what? It was a mechanic joke, no one is being a "butt." I also don't see how me saying that a dead miss a cyl. 3 raising EGTs and killing boost is not helpful in some way.

Hah, you said "butt."

Thank you...

I guess its time to swap coils. I just don't understand why the coil would spark fine under 10 pounds of boost and be screwed up at higher boost. *shrug*

Thank you for your help, I already checked my ICM. Its fine.

Alright well in the process of swapping coils I decided to check my ICM and swap the coils. I pulled the ICM out and it wouldn't read any resistance on any of the cylinders. I know I was doing it right because I took my old ICM and ran that one the same way coming up with no ohms in cylinder two (the reason why I bought a new one).. Any ideas as to why that would happen with the one that I now know works fine on my car..

Originally as I said my miss was in cylinder 3. I swapped pack 2 and 3 and now my miss in cylinder 2. So I guess these packs can go bad...

Thanks for your help.

Stu

Well i can explain why the coil pack only miss-fires at higher boost at least.
Each coil pack has its own primary and secondary coil built into each one, if one of the coils developes corrosion on either the coil or at the point of the connection between the plug and coil it can make it harder for the coil to create a spark. An open in the coil also creates resistance because it has to jump a gap inside the coil.
Now the engine at idle only needs a little bit of spark to keep the engine running because there isn't hardly any pressure inside the cylinder. When the turbo creates boost, increased pressure is inside the cylinder meaning it needs a higher spark to ignite the mixture which is why its only missing under boost.
Glad you found the problem.
