Default Aftermarket Head unit install problems

alright so i got my new DVD player and all the installation parts in the mail today, i wired up the stereo harness to the factory conversion harness all seemed to be hooked up fine and to the books.

however i cant seem to get power to the rear speakers. i've searched around and seen others with similar problems but couldn't get an answer.

i had a stock double din symphony radio, no bose, and no other aftermarket anything installed.
now the RCA cables that run from the head unit to the rear speakers make a static noise if they touch metal but i get no sound from them whatsoever. also in the menu of the dvd player it shows there nothing connected for rear speakers. the only thing i can think of is the remote wire that turns on the amp or w/e but idk how i would go about running that any better then it already is considering it attached to the same plug in the harness as the rear speaker RCAs. i did try using a wire to connect them during a power up and no luck.

so if anyone has any suggestions or input, it would be greatly appreciated.
(sorry for the poor write up, i was thinking as i was typing)

The rear speakers have a mini amp, chances are you need to run a line from the headunits remote turn on wire to the white wire on the rear amp, OR bypass the rear amp, and run good wire from the headunit to the rear speakers

so wait, you mean run a wire all the way back to the amp, or just to the wire thats in the harness?

im aware of the amp, but i just don't get how the remote turn on isn't already doing the job if im using a harness.

what color is the wire? just white? or white with a stripe?

IIRC its just white. I spliced that wire for my 2nd amp for my subwoofer. You could chase the wire back to see which pin it is on the factory harness and go from there, but I dont remember there being a white wire....

also quick question about the remote on wire, does it matter how many times i tap this wire? i currently have it running to the head unit, as well as to a relay.(which bypasses the Ebrake to allow video while driving).
i make CDs with music and a faux equalizer running so it doesn't sit on a boring blank screen.
the relay works fine, and the head unit works perfect(minus rear speaker sound =P ) turns on and off as it should, and keeps its memory for my radio stations, lighting preferences etc.

oh and while on the subject, do i need to run the remote on wire to the antenna? i know the B6 requires it, i didn't think the b5 does because i figure we have a stationary antenna.

The headunits remote on wire should be fine with 2 or even 3 amps/things, because its just sending a signal to turn on the amp, not power it.

MAybe give the harness manufacturer a call? I would assume they have a detailed pin out sheet of the original plugs. We have the same factory radio, so I can take a look at mine tomorrow and help you figure out which wire goes where

ya that would be awesome if you could check on it, the biggest problem i have it my dash kit is a metra, so once i finish this project and push it into the dash to be stationary i have almost 0 chance to take it out. its currently hooked up and sitting out about an inch so i can keep tinkering with it.
this is what i used for install:

the head unit is a 2011 avh-p2300DVD, identical to the 2010 avh-p3200dvd (minus the SD card slot on front)

why did you go with the AVH-P3200DVD? you should have went with the AVH-P4200DVD with a bigger screen size of 7" across, oppsed to your screen which is 5.8" across,i also didn't like the pioneer headunits with the usb and SD card ports on the front,i didn't want anything hanging from my headunit,i like a clean, stock looking headunit, which is why i went for the AVH-P4200DVD. I had the usb extension cable, running from the back of the headunit, from my glove compartment,i let it hang out, when using my iphone 4 for music and put it back in,when not in use.

I also didn't need bluetooth or gps navigation, being i have a TOMTOM 740 live gps, which comes with built-in BT and ofcorse is a gps navigation unit.

I'm sure you had your reasons for choosing the AVH-P3200DVD but you can never go wrong with a bigger screen.

aftermarket headunits/speakers are ALWAYS better than a stock setup, more wattage, better sound/features ect... stock setups are simply just good enough but if you want a premium setup, aftermarket is the only way to get it.
