So I took my car to get the air con regased and they told me that the compressor is not cutting in and there is an electrical problem. I'm going to take the car to an auto-electrician but just out of interest's sake, does anyone know what it could be?

I'm sure it could be a ton of different things, I have checked fuse 25 under the dash but that's about the extent of my auto electrical knowledge. From having a bit of a look around the engine bay, I'm thinking that the a/c compressor sits at the bottom of the engine. My car is a 98 with an AEB 1.8T engine. Any ideas?

 

After running a diagnosis on the Climate Control Panel, I'm getting the error.

22.1 (F118) A/C Refrigerant High Pressure Switch, static open.

Anyone know how to go about fixing that?
