Airbag light

Default Airbag light

I got my light on a day ago and i was wondering how to know if it is the under seat thing.

The only sure way is to scan with Vag-com and see what code is causing it. You could check the connection under the drivers seat and make sure the one with the yellow wire is seated securely, but then you still would need a code scanner to re-set the light.

alright ill look for the yellow wire tomorrow, i need to fix it soon because my inspection is this month and i could fail because of it right?

Would autozone or somewhere clear the airbag for me because i dont have a vagcom tool

In NY that light is not a fail criteria. Chances are you'll pass with it on (I have twice). The store isn't allowed to clear codes but if the guy is cool he may do it anyway. I'm not sure if their scanners can turn the bag light off but it's worth a try.

Just call an inspection shop and ask them if it'll pass with that light on.

Yeah I don't see how a air bag could force a fail. I mean there are plenty of cars that don't even have bags!!!
