Started diagnosing my cruise problem. I replaced all the hoses (inside and out), I tried two pumps (I guess they could both be bad, my luck), diaphragm holds, how do I test the valve vents at the pedals? I tested it with the hose plugged pre-vents to see if they were sticking, letting air in, but not the case. Might be electrical? Any thoughts?! Thanks as always

Take a look at this Clayson. I've used it to fix a couple of different Audi's with the vacuum powered cruise control. It's very methodical troubleshooting.

Yeah, I was going to take a look at that some time soon. That last post reminded me that I don't hear the clicking when I engage the cruise any more, which would lead to a stalk error. But I just had it replaced about a year and a half ago because my lights wouldn't work, but I guess it COULD have gone bad since then...

Got new JBLs installed. I think I have the crossover hooked up wrong for the tweeters, it sounds like it's trying to send the bass to them instead of the highs. And I don't know if this a common problem or not, but the rear decks don't put out as much bass as they should. They have a built in crossover if that's relevant. Any ideas?

Started to diagnose a rather fast oil leak. Looks like it's coming from a plug on the back, right of the head, in line with the camshaft. Where can I get it (besides the dealer)?

I get my baby back today!! I know I haven't been on in a while, and you have no idea what I'm talking about. I sent it out yesterday to get the headliner done, I got some really nice beige faux suede material for christmas, so I'm having them do the headliner, the A, B, and C pillars, and the leather cutouts on the door panels. SO excited! Also went to the junkyard the other day and picked up all four door panels from an '00, so now I have that nice light on the bottom Along with four footwell lights, I figured if I'm going to have them up front, the rears might as well have them! AND... the best part?! Picked up the rear bench seat and front passenger seat from the '00. Unfortunately, the were out of a 1.8T, so they're leatherette, but I surprisingly don't care, because they are mint. Also having the headliner shop do the driver seat to match the others now. So by the end of the day, I'll basically have a new car

It's been SO LONG since I've been around, but progress hasn't stopped! I've done so much since I've been on last. But now I've run into a problem. Is there any way to replace the power steering gear without replacing the entire rack?? I've developed a massive leak, and we've tracked it to the gear (number 13), or of course if there's any way to rebuild it. Thanks all...
