Default Am I screwed?

so I went to torque down a hex bolt to the engine (putting rear coolant flange in) and I end up taking the head off the bolt and leaving the rest of the bolt in the engine block(head)...

What should i do?

Drill out the center of the bolt and use an easy out to back out the body of the bolt.

even better, left handed drill bits. you may not even need the easy outs.

I have never heard of left handed drill bits. Do you mean reverse threaded drill bits?

Yup, they have them at a machine shop supply or perhaps Sears/Craftsman. They're bits that cut in "reverse" Phenominal for getting a stuck/snapped bolt out. Combine that with a set of Easy Outs (available all over the place. I have a set from Lowes), and there's no bolt you can't get out.

Ok, within reason there's no bolt that's not coming out.

You're not screwed. You just have agreat opportunity to get new tools.

call them what you want but yeah they're just cut reverse. I bought them through a catalog company we worked with when I was building racing engines. I know Snap-off and Mac both offer small sets. Crafty little headline by the way lol. Also Fred, sick ride. I may have to get a copy of the pic of your car for lonely nights.
