Ohhh verrry good---Now the light from the HID will look much cleaner, not just spread out and all over the place.

what is all needed to mount the ballasts? are those something that will be simple to install or do they have to be at a certain angle etc.?

i have a 2001 audi a4 1.8tQ - sport edition. im pretty sure its not HID but i do have projectors. will i be able to use the stock lights?

with HID... is there still a high beam and low beam setting or is that extinguished when you install this kit?

what must be done to get the "yellow or purple" looking HID lights?

OK, addressing blueboost99 first:

You can use the HIDs in your headlight housings. In the pic I put up at the start of this thread, that's the reflector-style 99 housings. I just installed my depo projectors, which will look better, but look at my avatar to the left - that's in the reflector housings.

Campbells - for what you asked:

The ballasts can be mounted upside-down at an angle if you want - there's no special positioning you need for them. You can use screws, zip-ties, whatever you want to mount them. You can use them in either style of headlight. Order D2S (although it doesn't really matter now, as I haven't seen D2R bulbs in a long time), select a single-beam kit (since you have one bulb for low beam and a separate one for hgh beam), choose your color temperature (go with 4300k for max visibility, or 6000k for more bluish looking light that is still very intensely white - go higher than that and you're getting show parts more than functional ones - the light emitted is too blue to be very good for visibility if you buy 8000k or higher), and the final spec you need is the bulb style, which should be H7 (remove a headlight low-beam bulb and verify this before ordering). Do this, and it's a direct plug and play install. Your high beam is separate, in the reflector portion of your headlight. You're only upgrading the projector low beam to HID - high beam function will not be touched.

If you want purple HIDs, get 12,000k or 14,000k...and be prepared to crash your car. With those lights and their ****-poor visible output, you'd be lucky to see a bonfire in front of you. No higher than 6000k and you'll be good to go. If you want yellow, say for your foglights, which can also be converted to HID, order a 3000k kit - it has a yellowish hue.
