Exclamation Auto tranny can't shift into park or reverse. Need help asap

Like the title says I can't shift into park or reverse. Any help would be greatly needed so I can leave my car in a spot without having to worry about someone stealing it

simple, do a manual swap hehe. it could be a bad shift selector. anybody near you have vag com? i don't think the cel lights up for a tranny problem but your PRND lights should do something i think. also a generic cel reader won't pick up tranny cels. so since you can't put it in park you have to leave your keys in your car? lol

hiwords-i would love to do the 6 speed swap but well no money and i think your the only person around me with vagcom. and i would have to leave my keys in the car which im not to fond of.

srlito-i pulled the button out and theres a oval shaped plastic ring that for the life of me cant figure out where it goes.

but for now im using a pick tool to lift a lever to shift into park and reverse (PITA)

You might want to check the tranmission and motor mounts, bad mounts will create that such problem

It won't be mounts - the issue happened after gear handle removal. Tyler, I didn't come across anything helpful in my manual for putting it together
