AWD to RWD Conversion
#32
this thread got me thinking of something instead of a full on RWD conversion why nto get a stasis high bias center diff for $550 and a $1000 core charge. when accelerating it sends upto 88% power to the rears.

where is the center diff that needs to be welded located in this pic?

It is still 50/50 bias and only changes it to 20/80 while the car is being pitched coming out of a corner. It does not change while the car is going in a straight line. If you want a AWD setup that you can control how much power is sent to each end of the car buy a haldex car which would be the R32 and Audi TT. They come stock with a 75/25 bias.

Matter of fact, I did suggest that in posts 14, 15 and 20. But he obviously doesn't want to autox 2.8, he wants a hardcore dragster once he gets F/I. The whole "conversion" may put down a couple more hp on the dyno (maayyybe) but the #'s will still be the same on the ground. There is no power upgrade, just the ability spin the rear/front wheels freely. Definetely not worth sacrificing the Quattro system.
