Best way to empty fuel tank?

Same task hetre, but pump dead and tank full.
Remember major gas flooding garage when opening pump lid.

Try to have replacement pump on hand, maybe use to syphon out?

If gravity drain: what is best hose to disconnect? Fuel filter?

I got same problem the pump is dead and tank is almost full !

How did you empty your tank to get the pump changed ?
And I should mention I have an B7 model A4 2007 quattro

I know this is an old thread, but if anyone has the same problem check that key icon goes out before you try cranking engine. If key icon continues to flash then key has NOT been recognised. Maybe try spare key if you have one. I have this problem intermittently on a 1997 3.7 D2 PF A8 and a 1995 2.6E Coupe.
