better than finding a $20 bill...
My personal favorite was when I was first driving my b7 and it started sprinkling and the wipers came on by themselves. Turns out the car has a rain sensor that when the wipers are in the delay mode, they will come on when it senses rain.
^ when your windows roll up, they'll roll back down if theres too much pressure difference. ei: your hand between the window and frame *ouch

Yeah the 98.5 has the same functionality for the motion sensor override button.
I suppose most of you know that turning the key to the unlock position in the door and holding it will drop all the windows, and holding it to the lock position will close them all, as well as the sunroof. This can be VAGed to work the same by holding down the remote buttons.

I see no mensioned the speed indicator thing that you can set at two different speed that you can set.
You can set one for town driving so you know when you hit the speed limit and it will bleep and show a yellow sign on the display and you can set the other for the freeway.
Also like the red lights that shine down on the gear stick (facelift only I think for this).

Phil, it sounds like you don't get the rollup because there is a problem. I'm thinking some contact must be either worn or broken, unless you aren't holding it long enough. As for the speed warning, I think that came in on the facelift cars at the earliest.
When starting the car, especially on those cold mornings, you only have to turn the key into the start position momentarily. If you release it immediately afterward, the starter continues to crank until the car starts.
Works on my B7, but don't have a B5 to test this.
