Default Broken key in ignintion >_<

Just bought an audi and 3/4 of the key is broken in the ignition. Was wondering on what the best way to approach this would be. Should i just pull out the whole ignition assembly and buy a new one then order a key from the dealership or is there any other way to tackle this.

Default broken key in ignition

i cant see any key sticking it out i have to stick a butter knife in to turn it over. i was thinking about putting some super glule on the end of the 1/4 piece of key which has the handle on it and then putting it in and trying to let it dry and pull the other 3/4 piece out but idk if that will just dry to the ignition tumbler. i would like to avoid the dealer and the 100$ dollar key please let me know what you think thanks, Nick

you could try a locksmith, I bet they have some tricks up their sleeves! and if you get it out, i think you'd be best off getting a new key (unless you have a backup.. valet key perhaps?). a key that's been fixed with super glue is likely to break off again!

you could just replace the tumbler... its cheap to do in my bronco, but i have a feeling it wont be the same in an audi...

Can audi keys be cut? I was under the impression they couldn't because of them being double sided or whatever but I was checkin out ebay and they have a4 switchblade keys all over the place
