im not bone stock at all, but my 4th gear doesnt seem to bad at all withe the 20psi it feels nice.

Yeah Maybe spiking at 20PSI i could believe but even thats going to be pushing it on a stock turbo... But holding there is no way. I was using a K04 (yes I know it's a sucky not worth while upgrade) on my A4 and I couldn't hold 20 in 2nd or 3rd gear. So I highly doubt you can hold 20 in 4th on a stock K03.

bishop, im not disagreeing with yo, you just seem like u think everything is better i its more expensive
and how do u think a tubular will last longer and is more durable?, i agree with cincy, and i can see how an ebay tubular will mess up, but a cast is a cast, just some have ATP on them, and jeff, were both of your manifolds tubular?, and wht mani from ebay did u buy? godspeed? or the even sh!ttier looking ones?

my manifold from ebay was not cast. that might have served me better. but i think a manifold is a very important investment. not as much on here but on the evo forums that i read people argue about manifold design more than just about anything else. a poorly designed mani will hurt spool, hurt top end, or even cause surging. its just not some place i feel you should go cheap on. i dont see why someone who is dumping money into their car would put a cheap important part on their car. just to save some money but have a higher likly hood of failure. i had 2 different compains manifolds from ebay on my car...they both failed. It cost me a good amount of money to have 3 new manifolds put on, and then have my dp rewelded 3 times. not to mention the head ache of not having a car for awhile. hell i almost missed thanksgiving dinner the second time. the wastegate broke off and left me stranded. i guess your going to do what ever you want to do and good luck
The cast log manifolds give up top end for faster spool. There are cast manifolds that dont have cyl firing at one another, but they are for fwd transverse cars. Also the wastegate placement makes a huge factor on how it functions also. The ATP and its clones are not the best design for total flow, but do the job on turbos up to the gt30 series well enough. Of course you would see a nice gain in swapping to a tube man, but they cost more and will increase lag. Not to mention unless you are trying to make over 400whp, its not going to be that important getting a tube man.
Jeff just admitted that he went cheap and it bit his *** hard a few times. He was out a wastegate and a manifold once even. Just do yourself a favor and get the atp clone with atp parts. In the end it will save you over $200 and i even told Kemp a place to get his lines cheaper also.
And to Bishop, ebay ic work, but they are FAR from a real kit. The $900 kits use REAL intercoolers with high density cores that will both cool far better and take up less space. This will make far more power since the iat's will be lower and you will have more (and be able to increase) timing. And on a small turbo, timing is everything. The other big part of a kit is that they use far less connections. The fewer the connections the fewer spots for leaks and far less turbulance, again, more power. Yes, cheaper is better than stock, but far from the best results.
Beatjunkie, the 2x will basically bolt right up and make far more power than a ko4 while having a real powerband. With it done correctly, you should be seeing low 13's instead of somewhere in teh 14's with a ko4.
One final thing, when kemp says he is holding 20psi, he didnt mean forever. He means it goes to 20psi, stays there for a 1k rpms or so and then falls off like everyone else. Please use your heads before calling BS on something that all of you should know is true.
Now please, keep this thread on topic and stop the worthless name calling.
