Devils got you covered on this.. I just wanted to tell you that even though it's slow, the 12v 2.8 is known to be Audi's most reliable engine. I drove a couple with more than 200k and they were smooth and sounded great. If the head gasket hasn't been done, expect it to be soon. $1,000 is fair but if thats the asking price go for $700!
