Buying a chipped ECU from someone

No reason to be alarmed that I know of, just make sure the part number matches and you should be good to go. Flashes are more common for newer ECU's but not totally unheard of.

Yeah I believe you . I most definitely will have to do that to recode for my FWD.

CCA4, yeah I think it's fine. I looked at GIAC/AWE websites and they show a GIAC chip soldered on. I think it'll be fine.
