Car cranks longer than usual before start up
My car recently began requiering long cranking before it would start up. It runs ok...A bit slower than usual. Its a 1.8t with 107 xxx miles. Spark plugs are original. Is this a sign of bad coilpacks or sprark plugs , or something else?
Sorry for confusion. I ment that the sparks are original meaning not aftermarket (NGK etc) . What replacement do you recommened. Is OEM plugs expensive? What other things do you usually change with that?
Plugs should be done every 40K miles. It probably wouldn't even run with 107K miles on original plugs!
NGK BKR6Es work just fine, especially for the price. Gap them to .28 if chipped, .32 if stock. Search to verify the gap.
A slow start could be a number of things. Poor fuel pressure, worn plugs...
