Car jerking when put on Reverse
I have a 1997 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro. Everything works fine except when I put the car on Reverse. When I step on the Brake, put the car on Reverse, the RPM goes UP, DOWN, UP, DOWNfor a couple of seconds so if I release the Brake, the car will actually jerk for a couple of times. So whatI do is , step on the brake until the RPM goes steady and then release the brake to actually back-up. I'm pretty sure the problem is not on the transmission. But if anybody had this problem before, I'm welcome to listen and welcome for advise as well. Thanks.
I had a similar problem sometime ago. But i don't remember my rpms increasing and decreasing. It jerked (bad)when I put it into reverse. I took it to the Stearlership to get check out, turns out that some of the bolts and shift case were loose, they tightend the bolts and so far I haven't had a problem.
