Yea, but the boost stays at the max psi and the needle doesnt move with the surging.

 

I'm a little confused then..... what is surging? Are the RPMS rising and then lowering all the while with your foot on the gas? I thought you meant that your boost would rise, then plummit, only to rise again and so forth.

Sorry...I don't understand surging..

 

The RPMs dont fluctuate and the boost is the way it should be, you just feel the power surging

 

am i missing something do you have tunning or not? are you running the diode mod? you are running 17 psi, cause you cranked your mbc up? or tunning/diode mod got you to 17psi?

 

Im running the diode mod without a chip but thats not what its about, forget about the 17psi, this happened even when I ran without the mbc at 9psi.

 

I know what you are talking about and experience the same thing from time to time depending how I hit the throttle. I can not tell you what causes it or if its OK or not. My car runs at 20psi after 1st gear with the MTM chip. I figured its just the way turbos feel since its all controlled by vac.

Kind of like tricking an auto trans by giving it some power then letting off and giving it a different amount of power.

 

who ever asked what surging is its when you mash the throttle, and before the turbo reaches peak boost, it bounces w/ about a 2-3lb difference, causing almost a 'warp-speed' type sound before the car hits full boost.

 

I always had that problem. I figured it was a boost leak mabe. I'm trying to find it and its extremely difficult to find. so many hoses man...... =(

Well im sure I dont have a boost leak.. so Im gonna seafoam, and change the plugs and see if its any better.
