car wont move help! is it the clutch?
These guys aren't blowing smoke up your ***. You have a broken axle (cv joint). First make sure that the center prop/drive shaft bolts have not come out. If you have a broken joint or axle all the power will go to it because it has the least resistance - like mentioned - and you will go nowhere... Exactly as if the clutch is pressed in all the time.
At the same time, I understand what you're saying about the clutch "feeling" disengaged all the time... But, the axel is like a hundred bucks on Blauparts.com, so what do you really have to lose if that's the problem. I'm not sure how much the clutch would be to fix, but I bet it's quite a bit more...
Unless, you're trying to justify an upgrade to the wife (something I would do). Then, of course, by all means, you definately need a stage 3 something or another (and probably an axel, or at least a CV joint)... haha!

i understand why everyone is say axle since it seems to be the easiest solution but no one has still answered the question if the axle is broken or lose would the i be able to switch gears with the car running without pressing the clutch pedal?
Interesting. Could have sworn I answered this an hour or so ago.
Take off the inspection cover on the bottom of your flywheel case. I'm betting dollars to doughnuts that you'll find your clutch disc in pieces in there. May even see your throw-out bearing and pressure plate in there. It is possible, but not likely that your pedal became disconnected from the shift rod, and way more unlikely that your axle came out of your wheel.
Been there, done that, more than once with my 69 roadrunner. You'll be able to shift freely between gears since basically the clutch isn't engaged (it isn't there any more).
Not a hard fix, Chilton's or Motor manuals can get your through it pretty easy. If you have the cash and not the inclination, have it towed and fixed by a mechanic or dealer. Then you'll at least get a warranty for 90 days or so.
