Car won't start
Alright I took my car to the body shop about a week and half ago and I get a call from them on wenesday asking if I have ever had a problem startingmy car, which I never have. I go in the service manager explains that after they were done with the paint they tried to start the car and then it ran very rough while they moved it out of the paint booth. Since then it will not start, it will turn over but it will not fire. No body in town has the equipment toscan it[:@]. The manager talked to the audi dealership and they said that it might be coil packs, but without scanning it they don't know for sure. Is there anyway to check the coil packs to see if they are good, and does anyone think that it might be something else?
ouch that sux man. def scan for codes though and post them. you can go to autozone and rent one and you'll get your money back afterwards. crank sensor is a possibility too. also see if you can jump it
I'm going to stop by after I get off work. Last time I went to Autozone to have it scanned the guy was a d-bag about it and told me they couldn't do it, even though I know they can because they scanned my brother's jetta. The battery is fully charged and the ground connection also looks good. Don't flame, but do you hook up the OBD II scanner underneath the steering wheel or is it in the backseat cigarette area?
Alright, I stopped by the shop on the way home to have them scan my car. The shop manager was done so I got to talk to one of the mechanics. We went out and he tried hooking it up to scan, but he said that the car wasn't getting power to the scan port (I think). So he checked the fuses to the side of the steering wheel and they were ok. He mentioned that there might be a fuse blown, or something that got disconnected while it was in the shop. Any more advice guys?
why would they need to take any electrical things apart to paint your car? especially sumthing to make your car nto start. did you guys scan it right. you need to turn the key to the on position without starting it and then plug in and scan.
Yeah the ignition switch was on when he was scanning it. I dont think they took anything electrical off when they were painting it, I was wondering if there might be something that they coulod have bumped or reset when it was in the shop.
