CEL Light, ran diagnostic and have codes. Need help comprehending!
Hey everybody, just signed up today after reading some of the threads and realizing this is the perfect place to find help figuring out whats wrong with my car. So I've had my 2001 B5 A4 1.8t no quattro for about 3 years. Bought it with 110k miles on it and it has around 145K now. For all I know it seems like the car was kept in good shape mechanically before I had it. For the 35k that I've driven it I've been pretty good about oil changes on time and have had some fairly simple repairs done by a certified mechanic. So about 1000 miles ago the axle and some front end work needed to be done because the bearings were worn down (?) i think. Now the other day the check engine light comes on and the car starts to sound awful, almost like a lawnmower. The turbo sounds like its whistling and it feels like the car isn't getting the same power it used to. I'm worried because I topped off my car with 2 qts of 5W-20 oil when I was on a roadtrip and I didn't realize thats not the right oil. So i took it to a mechanic and had them drain the oil, change the filter and put the right oil in. I also had them run a diagnostic because of the check engine light. Mechanic called and said theres a bunch of things wrong and that the repairs will be more expensive then the car is worth. So now I hope one (or more) of you can help me understand what these codes mean and what is actually wrong with the car. Heres the list and thanks in advance for your help (and for reading my lengthy post).
