I'm checking the option to manufacture the parts that break on the central locking pump. It's going to be 3 parts that can be replaced if you are a little bit technical. I estimate that the final cost of the replacement parts will be $40-$50 as opposed to over $700 for a new central locking unit at the dealer.

If your central locking is not working (you can hear the pump in the passenger side of the trunk but the locks don't engage) can you please reply and let me know if you will be interested in buying a repair kit for the pump?

So nobody cares about fixing their central locking?

i would be interested, but you can just buy any vw central system and take the pump out and replace it in your module. you could pick up one of those in the junk yard for a can of soup.

I just did that myself after I tried to fix the pump and it broke again. I will see how easy it is to replace the pump. If it's not too hard then it is not worth the hassle of manufacturing the part.

Zoti,

It's ironic that you have also mentioned what I propose to do. My central locking pump had recently failed. With a poorly designed graphic piston and housing surround, it would be eminently more efficient to construct the surround with harder materials. As a business owner, I'm receptive to a joint venture. Any other interest out there in supplying this product?

I bought a central locking pump unit on Ebay from a 90 Corrado. I pulled the pump out and out it in my unit. Simple job that took me about 30 minues to complete and now I have it working again.

It's not worth making those parts.
