Check Tranny and Airbag Lights on??

Default Check Tranny and Airbag Lights on??

So I fixed the the combination switch problem I had (no low beams). I unhooked the battery as it said to do in the DIY for the combi switch. When I hooked the battery back up I now have the "Airbag" light on and also what I think is the "Check Transmission" light? I know I plugged all three wires / plugs back into the airbag on the steering wheel. The other light that is still on is top left of guage and it looks like an image of a transmission with a lightning bolt through the top and the word "check" on the bottom. Can someone please shed some light? Thanks in advance, Cameron

thats a check engine light

go down to autozone and have them scan it for you.. its free

Cool, so it's a standard ODB2 plug-in? My Volvo has had many a trips to Autozone for scans..lol.. Is the diagnostic plug somewhere under steering column like on most cars I've had?

thanks... and yea its a OBD2 but its vag. the port is by the hood release.

and your cable should look like this with all these pins

Well, today I got in my car and started on my way to work. I looked down and now the CEL light is not on? Magically it turned itself off..lol. Is it common for it to come on for a little while after the battery has been disconnected?

Get it scanned. There will be a code stored to tell you why is was on in the first place.

Thanks, I will stop by Autozone on the way home tonight. Also, will I have to go to the dealer to have the Airbag light reset? TIA

you should be able to clear a code from the cel that may put the airbag light on... then both lights should go out
