If you go to the track often, certainly upgrade if you have the dough. Your clutch should be fine though. Don't let a little burnt clutch smell freak you out, it'll go away. If I were you I'd go easy on it the next few drives incase you glazed the clutch. If I was going to upgrade beyond stock, I'd go straight to a south bend stage 3 or equivalent.

Should be fine for now, the stock clutch uses an organic material on both sides and is designed to shred when over heated. You will notice that burnt clutch smell for a while but that is normal.

If you do find yourself needing to upgrade the clutch I would suggest the stage 3 if you like launching your fwd. We have Southbend modify the pressure plates to increase the clamping pressure over what they include on their standard kit and we do this at no extra cost to our customers, our SB clutch package also includes free shipping in the 48 states and discounted shipping anywhere else in the world.
