Yesterday i was driving and my car seemed to jerk so i pulled over I tried to restart the engine and the rpms were just revving... I figured a vac leak so i checked and didnt have none... Thought then a coil pack those were fine... I had some ticking coming from the manifold and also near the intake... I changed plugs fired it back up with rough idle and loss of power completely... So i unplugged the maf and it helped out alot... So i figure my maf is bad but i picked up some cleaner for it and im going to tackle that tonight alond with my recirc. insert for my hks ssqv bov..

btw I drive 00 a4 1.8tQ Tip

On the way i stopped by advance and got these codes...

P1172
Manfacurer Contrl.
Fuel Air Metering

P0102
MAF or VAF
Circuit low input

My question is are both the codes due to the fact of the MAF or am i missing something... Is there anything ive missed???

I plan to get chipped with Giac soon so my car wont run as rich

Mods so far done are FMIC, HKS ssqv bov, Cone filter intake

 

so what happened after you cleaned it? same, better??

 

I actually had two probs. the maf was fouled so i cleaned it with the crc mass air flow cleaner and i had a major boost leak right at the turbo. IC coupler i had coming from it apparently slipped of the coupler. I even had it clamped idk how it happened really... But its not going to move now and i also took my hks ssqv bov and did the recirculation back to the inlet.

I started it up and i had the same trouble with the rpms and rough idle for about a minute, so i turned it off and restarted and now its fine and my check engine came off just as i was driving home so its all good...

So I promote the CRC MASS AIR FLOW Cleaner it saved my maf....
