Default Coilover Questions

I've found someone who has a 2001 S4 Quattro and bought Tein Basic Coilovers for it but never ended up using them. He's willing to sell them to me for $700 new, but I'm not too sure they'll fit, the only info I've found that is closest to my 96 is that Tein makes the Basic kit for 98-02 A4/S4. I'm afraid these won't fit, they're a great deal as he lives 15 minutes away.

I'm not 100% sure but I think S4 and 2.8Q A4 can use the same coilovers and it should work fine.

I thought the same, on Tein's website the only Basic kit that they offer is for Fronttrak, which I have Q. I just want to be sure before spending my birthday(today) money on coilovers instead of a camera. If anyone knows for sure, I'd greatly appreciate your input.

they should fit. The suspension geometry is the same between the S4 and A4 I believe

Most of the coilovers I have seen that cover 98-01 A4 also say tha fittements are also for S4 so they should be fine. go to a Tein dealers website and look for a part/model # for the set your friend has, when you search them on that dealers website with the # it should list all applicable models. I would start with Rapid Motorsports site & see what u end up with.

Keep in mind S4 only comes in quattro. So if he's selling coilovers that actually work for his car, they won't be the fwd ones on the site.
