That is the central locking pump, it controls a lot more than the lights. I don't think there is a ccm in B5, i have never seen one

Okay, well finally got some time that our schedules met up and I got the part installed. I'm happy to report that this was the issue. Installed the part and viola the windows, and sunroof worked perfectly. It was located in the passenger side trunk well. I included a couple of pics. I hope this helps someone using the search function.

Behind the carpeted area with the light is where the part is hidden.

This is the part enclosed in it's foam.

Before people are misinformed - that is not a comfort control module. That is the central locking pump.

Thank you, this did solve the issues though....so actually, when I hooked up the used "new" pump the power locks didn't work. Since it wasn't my car I wasn't sure if they ever worked, and chalked it up to the switch being bad. When I asked about it I found out that with the old part they did work. So after a bit of trouble shooting, I figured out the air pump in the module wasn't working properly.

I decided to give it a shot and take the good parts from each module that I had and make one good module. Took a few pics just because I thought it was interesting, and figured some others might too.

Two modules torn apart. The black thing connected to the circut board is the pump, all I had to do was unplug, and plug in the blue and red wires:

Here's the good pump's guts. Looks like I nice little pie.

Here is the inside of the bad pump, you can see all the pieces jumbled together, definetly the cuprit.

So now I can officially say that the issue is fixed.

How did you remove the carpet around the tail light. I didnt see any screws or anything.

Also how do you know if you habe a b6 with the ccm in front of the driver seat or a b5 with a central locking pump?

Thanks.

B5, and B6 are the platform. It's just the generation of car. Like stated before I'm vw guy. Example: A passat from 1999 - 2006 is b5 and one from 2007 - 2012 is a b6.

I wish I could remember exactly how I got the carpet out, but this was two years ago, and the one and only time I worked on her Audi (she sold it right after four a jetta). I think it was some locking screws on the top and under the floor carpet iirc.

Thanks.

It's a 2003 A4 Cabrolet Convertible. I removed the ccm from under the front of the drivers seat. Everything looked fine besides my knuckles. I inspected the wiring but shouldve cut the binding open to inspect it better. Too late now, im not taking it out unless I scan it by the vcds and it points to that. Im pretty sure the ccm just needs reprogrammed. When i had it out, the drivers window rolled up.

You dont know how I can get a cable soon or anyone in the Cleveland Ohio area that can scan it do you?

Thamks for your help.

Default Audi A4 CCM inquiry

Does anyone know of a reliable place to buy the comfort control module for a 2001 Audi A4 Quattro?

All Audi dealerships are trying to rob me of $1000
