Default Coolant temp. ????

What should the coolant temp. be on a 1.8t when it is at running temp?
My guage reads at 11 o'clock, the VAG-COM reads 65C, never more, and my oil temp rarely gets hotter than 170F.
My turbo is venting boost almost immediately and I think low running temp. may be keeping my ecu at a cold motor map.

I've experienced that coolant temp sensors are a common error with these cars. Vag-com or not, I guess it reads the same sensor.
You should check if your thermostat is faulty.
Do this by driving your car for 20 minutes, take your hand on the top radiator hose, and see how hot it is. If you can keep your hand on it without burning, then temp is ok. If it's relatively cold, your thermostat may be stuck in open position (change it). If you burn yourself, it's stuck in the closed position, or radiator fan is not working.
If it's warm, but you can keep your hand there for over 5 secs, you should swap coolant temp sensor.

Also feel the bottom hose of the radiator. If it's as hot as the top one, that means radiator is not cooling properly, it might be clogged up, or fan problem.
If the water pump is at fault, it shouldn't be very hot.
