I have a 99.5 A4 1.8TQ that I recently bought used. I got it from a friend who never had a problem with the cruise. Now, it doesn't work.</P>


I have tried a TBA using the VAG-COM (which worked for me in the past with my VW) without success. Also, when I try to access group 066 in the engine block 08, I just get "N/A" in each field.</P>


I have tried checking the brake light bulbs (which work) and the brake switch using the VAG-COM, and everything works.</P>

Often times the cruise control stalk goes bad. You may want to try replacing that.

 

Yeah mine is a cranky one too... sometimes it decides not to work for a while.
