Dead Instrument Cluster - Short Circuit

Dead Instrument Cluster - Short Circuit
Dudes,
my instrument cluster went dead these days, so I have disassembled it to assess what was going on.
I was hoping there was nothing wrong with the instrument cluster. I thought that it was something wrong with the plugs.
Nope! A major short circuit happened, the board as fried!
Look at the pictures below, has anyone experience a similar thing? how I'm supposed to fix it?
Thanks a lot, I'm kind of scared right now.
The car is a 1995 A4 B5 1.8 20V, ADR.
I left it at the repair shop to do a water pipe service, when I got it back my instrument cluster was not working. So I took it back to the repair shop. When the guy disassembled it, I knew the things were not going to be easy...

I just pulled one out of a 2000 a4 1.8t today that my brother is parting out. I will upload pics tomorrow of the back side of it, not sure if its the same cluster or not. Had to unclip 3 plugs on the back hand side.

no lcd, 2 plugs (blue and yellow), it is a "type 1 cluster" without lcd. I´ll post pictures later, i´m at work right now.
