you may want to consider going to a parts store and getting a block tester, its very easy to do, you install it onto the coolant fill and add the chemical into the tester that comes with it. the chemical is a dark blue color and will change to yellow or green indicating the presence of hydrocarbons or exhaust gas in the cooling system. i only mention this because you said that the coolant hose exploded which indicants that there was a lot of pressure on it. and you may not see cross contamination although the hydrocarbons will turn the coolant into acid and that combined with the pressure increase form the combustion leak will lead to more failures so even if your problem is sloved its worth checking just to be sure. also was the head sent out to a machine shop to be milled and checked for leaks?

Angry 2 bad cylinders

i have two bad cylinders warped from overheating. Repair estimate $ 3000 for cylinders but no garantee head gasket is not cracked. What to do? Is it just salvage value now or run an ad for 2001 audi parts available. Trade at Audi dealer for new car with this as trade in?
