Any ideas on how this sumbitch desided to start rubbing against my firewall at the bottom/side underneath around the area of the flexpipe?
Was on the highway, and dropped a gear to pass, damn thing started vibrating.
now it stopped vibrating and it fully rubs.
I am thinking an engine mount might have failed, purchased them in the spring so they are kinda new.
any other ideas?

 

I would check the exhaust hangers first to see if one of them broke and shifted the exhaust causing the down pipe to rub. If all of them are good you want to check the engine/transmission mounts and snub mount.

 

yup check your hangers mine rubs when it rains sometimes for some reason but nothing bad but about every oil change i go through the exhaust and re tightn clamps and what not and check hangers since im already under there

 

all hangers are good. well, I am going to purchase a full stern mount kit, engine, transmission and snub mounts after christmas.

I have the Stern motor mounts in stock, what I dont have I can get the same day by just driving over and picking them up since they are only 15 minutes from me.


I have a GB going right now but it ends Dec 15th.
