Okay I've driven about 150 miles on the new pump, and the whining sound is still there.... Is something wrong?

Was it a new pump or used?

It was used pump overhauled/rebuilt by a company called Atsco. I bought it from Autozone for $185, they charged me a core price of $65 as well. I have now driven over 250 miles on the pump, same "whining" sound and it is more intense as the wheel is turned. However, The steering remains responsive and works great.

Thanks,
Matt

wow you're lucky it didn't explode on you. are you leaking ps fluid right now? i don't think you could have messed up the install, it's pretty straight forward. try using some lucas. the thicker fluid might help it

The sound can't be normal, and the fluid is bubbling like crazy in the res, I do not think i am leaking at all...

Sounds like there is still air in it. Keep bleeding. Back and forth with the wheel, top off the reservoir. Do this with the cap off.

Remove the suction line from the rack to the pump. Put it in a bucket. Have a friend pour new ps fluid into the reservoir while the car runs. Please note: Power Steering fluid is EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE! Do not spill it! This is not a recommended method, but can be used if necessary.

Also, check your hose clamps. If they are loose, the pump will suck air.
