Default Electrical failure

Hi again....i have a 2000 audi a4 quattro 1.8t and when i got off work this morning i drove home and everything worked fine with the car. I went out 20 min. Later to go to the store and when i started the car the windsheild wipers, the turn signals and the heater blower didnt work. The hazard lights work but the turn signals dont...is there a fuse or relay that could control all those things?

Not work at all? Or you heard a sound but didn't see a light on the dash? My dash has some bad connections so the arrow light often doesn't up but the (more important) outside 'actual' turn signal does.

In any event, have you checked appropriate fuses?

Its becoming rainy season where I live so water intrusion is always a possibility that can cause annoying electrical issues. Make sure to check your ECU/housing.

Someone told me that it might be the ignition switch. Has anyone had similar problems when there ignition switch was failing? I priced one at napa for $26 so im jus gonna replace it and see what happens..

That sounds a lot like a relay issue. I can't remember if all of those are powered by the same relay, but you should definitely look into it.

If a new ignition switch is quick and easy, you might as well do that too (regardless).

Ok i replaced the ignition switch and it solved nothing. The problems are still there. Does anyone know where the ignition relay is located on a 2000 a4 quattro 1.8t? I cant seem to find a reference for one.

Every relay diagram you will find will say something different. It drove me crazy. You just have to Google the name "X" Relay" and go to "Images" and find as many relay panels as you can that look like yours and also show the same layout, then take a shot at it.

That's the best advice I can give.

Ok...three words for u guys...LOAD REDUCTION RELAY...if you ever come across this problem the fix is gonna be either the ignition switch or the load reduction relay. Cost was $29 from the dealer and solved the problem.
