I have the 1.8T awd and my oil gauge never really gets were its suppose to be, i don't know the problem. what could be wrong? and also my engine temp gauge dropped from half way to the first bar. i don't know whats going on so i need some help here. thanks

 

Senders are likely done for - lots of coolant temp sensor info in Search, not so much about oil temp, but if the oil level is good chances are the sender is failing.

 

I have a 2.8, when my thermostat failed, the TEMP gauge would go to half, drop down, then go to a 1/4 and back up, drop down to 1 etc...and my oil pressure gauge was low...now that it's all fixed (thermostat), everything works fine...if you have a VAG to pull codes, it might give you more information to narrow down exactly where to start....

 

well some material of a construction truck flew off and it hit the road when it bounced back it hit the bottom of my car, my oil pan has gone bad because of that, just got it checked this morning. but I'll see about that thermostat sensor, and vag.com didn't show anything bad for some reason.
