Question engine shudder - gears sticky - little - no power

Hi All

New problem.

Past two days, engine has been shuddering while idling. Basically when I start cold car is fine but has less power than normal. After driving for a while the engine starts to shudder during idle and when in 1st to 3rd gear there is very little power. Car also shudders slightly while driving in 1st to 3rd. Gears are also slightly sticky when car is still cold. 5th seems fine but again struggles uphill or to speed up

Cambelt changed at 150 000Km current on 208 000Km.
engine stock std 1.8 non turbo south african spec 2001.

ANY ideas or help very welcome - totally at a loss as the dealer just says - come in for a diagnosis and quote ........ fees applicable.......

Any CELs? Could be a misfire, or a vac leak.

Hi All

thanks for the info. Here is an update symptoms have changed.

Power issue seems to have gone, however as before the gears are still sticky when cold. But now not so after the engine has reached normal operational temp. Engine shudder is still there and getting more apparent as the day gets warmer. Summer is here again.....

No CEL's - (thanks for the definitions)
Vac leak - no idea - would a newbie be able to check this?

Possibly spark plugs and coil packs and or oil - she is due for a service in about 2000 km's
although its weird this should go so early all of this was done at the last service....
