I might be buying another audi and have a few things i am not sure about.
1. I currently live in CA and will be moving to AZ very soon and i am not sure if i should buy the car here in CA or wait till i move. The reason for this is because of the CA smog and stuff. Do CA cars have cats that reduce power/emissions of the car, or are all the cats the same in all states?
2. My dad told me that small VW/Audi engines like the 1.8t might not be very good for the hot temperatures in Arizona. Should i be worried of overheating or anything that might go wrong in extreme heat?

Also, any nice audis for sale in the Northern CA or Phoenix area AZ? Let me know

 

Your engine will be fine in the heat. Cali has ******* engines because they have smog and emissions that ae strict as ****. they are also tuned to shitty 91 octane. I doubt az will get a different tune since its on the west coast also but the emissions system will def rob you of power. I don't know if they worried about ti back in 99. There are a few people in socal on the forums they can chime in and let you know if their cars have all the smog and emissions what nots.

 

Here is a couple of Audis I have found for sale in CA
2001 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro, Manual Transmission
The first one is very clean and the guy said that the timing belt was done at around 60-65k but probably wont have the paperwork to prove it since it was done a few years back. I also asked if it burned oil and he told me that it did once.... which seems very weird because he didnt mention fixing anything of that nature

this last one seems very nice, it is clean and the timing belt was done at 67k. it is very low millage but the price tag seems kinda high even though its below kbb.
tell me what you guys think about those audis, i still dont know if i should buy the car here in ca or wait till i move....
