Default Flashing Oil Light, Dead, Still has spark/fuel/comp???

Wife was drivin the audi the other day, oil light came on then started flashing. The tach stuck at 3k and the engine just stalled. I've checked everything I can think of. It seems to have spark? has fuel 'the plugs are wet after trying to start for awhile'. Compression seems fine. Timming belt is intact and seems fine? I dont get why it wont start. I've checked turbo to I dont get it........

I have a freeware version vag-com and these are the codes I pulled

P1602-Low Voltage
P0422-Cat/02 'old, this has been goin on post incident'
P1137-System to rich
P1555-Charge pressure "to much boost"
P1338-Crank position sensor/speed sensor?
P1548-Boost pressure control valve

I'm thinkin ICM or somethin, Any idea's or ways to rule stuff out would be great

P1338 is the one that matters. Clear the codes and see what comes back. If that comes back, it's the cause of your no start. The car won't start or run with a bad crank position sensor.

I cant clear codes because I only have the freeware version for my vag-com, Is there any way else to tell before just throwin money at it? Could that code mean anything else? The discriptions are just what I found online 'hoping they are correct haha'...

I looked up P1338, and it's a cam sensor failure - that'll also keep you from starting. Shareware vagcom clears codes easily - try it again, and see what comes back.

Sounds good i'll give it a try. Everytime I tried last time it says I need to register the software which cost's another $100 on the website threw vds-lite. Is there anyother software that doesn't require $$$$ ?

You may be downloading the wrong one - I downloaded USB409 as shareware a few years ago and had no fees at all. I have the full version now and it rocks but the shareware works great for most things you'll need.

Default Tried it again

So I reset the codes 'figured out how to do it with my software'. And i'm still getting the cam sensor failure. My question is will that make the car not start? I've been looking at other forums and it seems that nobody can make up their mind if it will make a difference if it's bad. Other than crap fuel mileage etc etc. I don't wanna blow $80 if its not the root of the problem?

The ECU reconciles the cam sensor's positioning info with that of the crank sensor. If it doesn't get readingsfrom both, indicating their positions, it doesn't trust that there will be no damage if the car runs, so it refuses to start.
