Default Flex pipe repair help

So I broke both of the flex pipes on my 1999 A4 2.8.

I found this part on autozone's website: 3A Racing/2 1/4 in. i.d. x 10 in. length flexible exhaust connector (17930) | Exhaust Pipe and Adapter | AutoZone.com

Is this something that will work for repair? I was hoping I could clamp it on for now. Does it absolutely need to be welded on?

Also, is that the correct diameter for the pipe (2 1/4 inches)?

Thanks!

The problem is the cat is part of the flex pipe in a sense. I cut the welds and welded new ones in. There's no way your clamping them

10" flex is pretty long - you'll have to cut part of the downpipes off. The flexes are about 5-6" long. Find them at ECS.
