2000 A4 MTQ. was working on my pasenger side CV joint and also replacing both lower control arms.
i put all back in place and while testing the car driving in circles the axle somehow popped out. it wasnt that loud of a pop, i dont think i broke anything.
thought it have come out from the wheel side and rotor, so took all apart and redid the cv joint, put it back tested and still having problems. the car does not drive, you can simply hear a slight grinding clicking noise cause the axle is not chatching the tranny i guess...
i jacked the car back up and try to muscle the axle back in place but it seems pretty firm in there. Also there really is no horizontal wiggle room. but maybe a 1/4 inch.
I just cant understand how the hell this happened and why...i mean i am able to fit all control arms, rotor, cv joint, strut, pinch bolt and all just fine. i mean... it wasnt easy but it all fitted fine...not like i have to use a crow bar to align stuff
im thinking if the axle was off by say...1 inch...there is no way i could fit all wheel parts in place right??
