Default Gapping spark plugs? Does it come with the correct gap?

I bought ngk platinum spark plugs when i was swapping in my new motor a few months back and i had a buddy flash my ecu and now its obviously "chipped" and i remember reading that if your car is chipped the spark plugs need to be gaped at .028, is this true, if so how much more diffrence is there in performance? Im just wondering..and does anyone know what the plugs come gaped from the factory? After doing some research i think my plugs came gaped at .032, if i gap it down to .028 is there going to be a noticeable difference in power?

Depending on how your friend "chipped" the car, it should give you a noticeable difference in misfires at the higher end of the boost gauge.

Yeah, you're not adding power, you're avoiding misfires under high boost. The higher boost from a chip can "blow out" the spark, like a candle, the smaller gap helps ensure this doesn't happen.

Definitely possible. That aside, you always want to at least check spark plugs before you install them. Even the ones that are supposedly gapped from the factory aren't always perfect.

Yes thats what i learned from my research. I have some sort of ngk platnium spark plugs, according to a bunch of diffrent websites my cars requires ngk laser platinum. Should i buy those? Their like 13$ per plug or should i just gap and keep my originals?

nope, the copper ones will work fine, for a couple bucks each, but you will have to replace them ever 10K miles or so... just one of the fun thing about having a turbo
