Default GIAC before or after TB

I already sent out my ECU to be chipped by AWE im using another ecu i have while that was out so i wouldnt be side lined. Anyway im doing my timing belt either this coming weekend or the weekend after. Should I wait to put the chipped ECU in until i do the TB or do it before?

I'd do the timing belt beforehand. If you're due for it, then the existing setup has quite a bit of mileage on it. Better to have all new, healthy parts on the engine before you go kicking the boost up.

Naw. If you're doing the timing belt on time, it doesn't matter.

Running mostly stock and then tuned for a bit on a TB is still better than running only tuned on a TB.

I have to agree with ImTheDevil.

Even if you're not due just yet, I'd feel so much saver with the TB done.

I would have to say there is no time like now, the sooner you put fresh parts on the better off you are, chipped ecu or not.

If it needs to be done now then do it now, other wise it doesn't matter since the TB doesn't know if the car is stock or chipped.

My feel has always been to make sure maintenance is covered first. If you have tired parts on the car, especially crucial components, put fresh ones on before you jack up the power and stress them more.
