Default HAHA 350 small block in B5 A4

So my dad's friend is staying with at my dad's house for the weekend, and when I came over, we smoked a cigarette and he wanted to look under my hood. Well, everything is stock, so I told him there wasn't much to look at. (Quick background info on my dad's friend. Used to build dragsters in Tenn. and won awards for putting a Supra Twin Turbo engine into a 2003 S2000 while keeping the car looking stock on the outside.) So anyways, I show him the innards of my car and he tells me he wants to take my car out to Tenn. to work on it for a month. I asked what he wanted to do with it, and he told me that the only thing Audi under the hood after he was done would be the brake cylinder. It gave me a hearty laugh and he told me it would give me about 400hp at the wheels when he was finished with it. I love my A4, but damn that is a lot of HP.

Oh boy... I think he will find it is alot more work than he thinks... this thread is really a can of worms... correct me if im wrong, but isnt your a4 a fronttrack? do you know how hard it will be to get a driveshaft and any kind of rear diff for that in the rear of your car? not to mention you will need custom axles in the back and a shitload of total custom fab work... You are way better off using another shell, and IMO it shouldnt be an audi.

WTF that would be the most legit thing ever! i personally, if i were to do a v8 swap, would probably put a terminator engine in it. smaller than the chevy and you get another 50 horses out of it. (03-04 cobra engine, 4.6L DOHC s/c, for you non ford guys)
that would be so completely bad ***; i sometimes daydream about the awesomeness. the whole rest of the car would need to be reinforced, i have no idea how much money it would cost, but i have a feeling it would be the most interesting B5 ever. and a BLAST to drive. not to mention how ******* beast it would sound...

you dont need to swap engines to do that. the stock engine block has been proven to be able to produce over 600whp without even the need for sleeves. i have a spare engine im slowly putting together that should have somewhere around 350-400 whp when its all done.

if you really would rather some american engineering under the hood, theres even people who have put an LS1 into a B5 audi before...

not to mention the 2.7tt swaps that have been done, or the VR6 turbo swaps, or even the 4.2 V8 from the audi S8 that is currently being put together.

i just think it would be exotic to have something as custom as that, i was at the track once and saw a s2000 (i believe thats what it was, im not big on hondas) with an LS2...

I'd do an LSx swap myself. Would be one hell of a car! Plus the LS engine is probably lighter then the stock 2.8l due to the aluminum block.

ohh man, I can't imagine the 2.7 tt in a b5...I used to have an '00 a6 2.7tt. Most powerful car I have ever driven. To this day I scold myself for getting rid of it.

Hehe.. Very american atleast. Putting a smallblock in an A4 would be kinda funky, but theres this great little thing called ECU, which I bet won't be too thrilled about the swap. Hmm, to OP, if you let him do this you won't be able to drive your car again I think..
