no its the opposite, V8 guys are the ones that love to say that.

Back when I was in my 20's, 4 cylinders were junk that did not last over 120K.
they work the same amount pretty much, if not more cause there is two banks on one crank. And when were you in your 20's if I may ask?

Personally if I had the option of getting a V8 swapped a4 vs a little more powerfull stage 3-4 A4. I would choose the V8. Now personally thats because I've driven a ton of stock 1.8t's stick and tiptronic and I just think the engine is gutless off the line... it can be hard to get a turbo to spool for off the line power where the V8 will have all the power whenever. Just not a fan of turbo's on a 4cylinder. You can make all the power you want with them but they will never have the guts you get from a larger engine in town. Since most of my acceleration I ever get to do is in town light to light then why would I want to have to wait for a turbo to spool?

What? You must not know how to launch a 4 cylinder turbo car then. Because I have no problem doing 1.55 60 ft times and 0-60 in mid 3 seconds with my little 4 cylinder A4. Let me know when any of the Audi V8's are doing anything close to that. LOL

Here is that huge lag you talk about and its called "skills".

Click on the link at the bottom of my sig and get a feeling of what the 1.8t can actually do off the line.

vr6 2.8 makes that power mike hehe. i'd take a 4 banger over a v8 any day too but i'd take a v6 over both.

I believe in the 1.8T, swapping V8s is what you do when you have no *****.

True. But there is plenty of work to fit the VR6 and all but the 3.2 head have bad flow. The VR6 also isn't made to rev very high and there is a huge amount of rotational mass which is why the crank can snap pretty easy while trying to make huge power.

I will give you a guess on where they got the idea to do a VR6 swap into a B5 A4. LOL
