let me put it easy, there is no such thing as a perofrmance part for a 12v! sure you got your intake and exhasut, but that wont do ****, except for that sound your looking for. the only thing you can possibly do is turbo it, but that is outta the question for you apparently. thing to do is save up and buy a 1.8t.

got news for ya...if you want a car to be something its not...buy thee car you want it to be the first time around...or onje thats easily modded...if you had the 30 valve you couldve supercharged it...but a 12v supercharger is no longer really made....a chip maybe at best. youre better of either a settling for appearance mods and praying no one challenges you...or b sell it and get a 1.8 t. also you have 205 for a width of stocks unless modded. 17 go well, 18 is pushing it.... remember when it comes to wheel size...the bigger the wheel, the harder to spin= slower....and you can have steering issues also.... lowering springs go a long way in making wheels look better

Intake and exhaust are it for your car power-wise. There are no chips that will really help, no turbo "kits", no superchargers. You said that is OK though, so that's good. You have zero need for a true racing clutch though, and why would you want one? Racing clutches clamp very strongly, but usually have high pedal efforts not suited for daily driving in traffic, and also have the engagement characteristics of a lightswitch. They aren't fun and you definitely would not want to deal with one if you don't have the engine output that requires it. Many of us here own, or have owned, highly modded cars in the past, and can comment on how much fun those are. I had a pucked clutch in my 300ZX for about a month and changed it out to a full-face JWT design. The JWT could handle the power (500+) fine, and had much better engagement. I couldn't stand the "racing" clutch for daily street use.

On any naturally aspirated A4, and the 12v in particular, your main focus in modding, if you want to be able to justify your expenditures, are looks, handling, and braking. The 12v is not really a slow car, but it's the slowest of the A4 clan, and there are a lot of other cars out there that will match or exceed its straight-line speed. But the A4 is a very nice handler, and with some appropriate mods, it can really straighten out the turns very well. Look into wheels, tires, sway bars, struts/springs, and an A8 brake upgrade - those are more than enough to keep you busy for awhile and will make far more difference in the feel and performance of the car than the intake and exhaust could hope to do. There's a reason the guys said there are no such things as performance parts for the 12v - the OEM intake design can flow far more air than the engine demands, so putting in an intake will only gain two things (both of which are worthwhile IMO) - a much nicer sound, and the fact that you'll never again have to spend money on an air filter. Ditto the exhaust - the factory system has signficantly more flow capacity than the engine requires, so dropping $1100 on a Milltek or Remus system will look and sound great, but won't get you any power. You're better off doing an "axle-back" (aka muffler swap) setup - order the muffler of your choice (Magnaflow 14815 and 14816 are popular and sound great - search youtube for "A4 Magnaflow" to hear them), have it welded on, and enjoy the sound. Then start working on style, handling, and braking, and start seeing a return on your investment.

how on earth would a clutch gain you any horsepower? do you know what a clutch is?
